ANOTHER GOOD TURNOUT TONIGHT! Although our theme focused
on influenza, the importance of educating the masses was drummed
home. Washing our hand thoroughly is a simple task that people
forget to do but imperative in protecting ourselves.
Highlight comments included: "A great presentation on
mentorship!" - "Loved the "eats, shoots and leaves" joke Jane
told." - "We managed to turn a rather ominous topic into an
educational and positive one." - "Impressed by how well the
guests spoke at TT's." - "Amazing evaluation by Dave: great
suggestions, great summary of points and done with a wonderful
sense of humour."
Although we started late, Chairman, Jim S. managed to get us on
track - he did an awesome job in introducing speakers and roles
- including some good bridging throughout the evening.
Wordsmith Randall B. gave us the word "balance" to use if we
were speaking up at the lectern - very appropriate considering
how it tied into our theme.
First-time Wizard of Ahs, Grant S., did a wonderful job of
explaining his role - and without notes I may add - awesome!
Jokemaster Jane A. had a very funny joke - great for the
audience - appropriate.
The Timer Eva F. certainly helped our Chairman to keep the
meeting running ahead of schedule - gave a good explanation of
her role.
Literally on the-spur-of-the-moment, Diane C. filled-in as Table
Topics Master - managing to compile a session in just minutes -
thanks Diane super questions!
Pierre G. evaluated our TT speakers and is very animated (which
is good!) in his suggestions and recommendations - he has much
improved since joining our club.
Ahhhh our toast to "Common Sense" by Carla W. was well received
- I wish our world had more of it.
Christina R. gave a wonderful speech from the Successful Club
Speech series on mentoring. She used great visual aids - was
really well organized and clear.
To end the evening our General Evaluator Dave A. gave us his
thoughts on how the evening went. His casual yet confident
presence at the lectern makes his suggestions and
recommendations very easy to take-in.
We had our election for incoming 2009 - 2010 executive.

Thanks Randall B. for adding some flavour to our refreshment
table it topped the evening off perfectly.
