HIGHLIGHTS

North Shore Toastmasters     t Club Meeting

April 20th, 2009

"ROOKIE NIGHT"

What fun! For rookies that participated they are a step closer in conquering their F.E.A.R. (the acronym: false evidence appearing real) of public speaking... you are officially unrookies! Is that a word?

Some of the Highlights comments were: "Pierre's evaluation - nice, refreshing" - "Congratulations to Randall on his first TTM - great job, spoke very clearly and gave us great topics to think about." - "Randall picked a couple of very good environmental topics this evening for TT. The speakers were paired and asked to talk either pro or con on the subject." - "Carla kept perfect time - great intro to your role by the way." -- "Congrats Richard - well done, loved the new info..."

Karen A. was our Chairman this evening and guided our rookies in a successful evening. Her comments this evening included an appropriate subject that was inspirational.

Christina R. as Wordsmith chose a very appropriate word "amateur"... her report at the end of the evening included phrases that she heard using her well-trained ear.

Wizardress of Ahs Jane A. kept the rookies on their toes including some of our well-seasoned toasties too!

Carla W. as Timer kept everything on schedule and she is becoming a valued member of Toastmasters 1085.

Randall B. on his first-time role as TTM did an outstanding job, spoke very clearly and gave us great topics to think about.

Richard B. took on the role of Toastmaster for the first time and looked very comfortable up at the lectern and did a toast to "St. George".

Dave A. did his #8 Speech out of the CC Manual... he was very comfortable with his visual aides... was an extremely interesting topic Dave... now only two more to go!

Jim S. evaluated Dave's speech and gave some valuable suggestions which rookies and seasoned speakers could take note of.

Pierre G. as General Evaluator gave a very thorough and concise evaluation and managed to phrase the suggestions in a very positive and encouraging way.

Thank you to Karen A. and Dave A. who jointly supplied goodies for our refreshment table.

Our next Toastmasters meeting will be on May 4th at 7:15pm in our regular location. Come join us in "Learning Through Fun and Friendship".
