HIGHLIGHTS

North Shore Toastmasters     t Club Meeting

March 2nd, 2009

OUR THEME “STAND BY ME” WAS WELL RECEIVED TONIGHT!

Highlight comments included: “Nice to see so many guests and friends!” – “Brave guests to speak at Table Topics” – “A really complete and interesting report by Carla as our Wordsmith.” -- Pierre’s creative variation on Table Topics was wonderful.” -- “Robert delivered an excellent response…by relating personal experiences of persecution…” -- “Diane does an excellent job of facilitating the meeting.” -- “I liked Jane’s 12 steps to grow a friend – lots of good tips on how to make a friend.” -- “Pierre’s creative variation on Table Topics was wonderful.”

Diane C. was our Chairman and she ran a smooth meeting which had a different agenda than usual. Diane managed to include wonderful bridging throughout the evening. She warmly welcomed FOUR guests and made them feel very at ease.

Wordsmith Carla W. explained her role well for the benefit of our guests. The word of the evening was “honourable” -- a great choice considering our theme.

Wizardress of Ah’s Barbara M. gave a detailed description of her role – even worked out the money too!

Jan F. our Jokemaster gave us a treat with a joke that took more time than usual – Jan you have the ability of sending us all back in time so extremely well!

Pierre G. our Inspirator is a great actor and immediately grabbed our attention, drawing us in to what he was saying.

A great job was done by Alicia G. as Timer – helping the Chairman to keep the meeting on time.
Table Topics Session #1 was run by Jim S. – Jim’s questions were challenging but the speakers answered them without too much difficulty.

Toastmaster Jane A. gave us a 12-step program on how to “grow” a friend which was wrapped up with the toast “To Good Friends”.

Table Topics Session #2 was run by Pierre G. who altered our usual format into a debate style with 3 people teams. A refreshing change.

Table Topics Session #1 & #2 Evaluationswas done by Christina R. – Christina always manages specific phrases or actions of what she liked – not necessarily just the content of what was said. Thanks Christina.

Our General Evaluator Dave A. always manages to emphasize the fun side of the evening and gave constructive criticism for improvement to the overall meeting.

Thanks to Dave A. for the treats on the refreshment table.

Our next Toastmasters meeting will be on March 9th at 7:15pm in our regular location. Come join us in "Learning Through Fun and Friendship".
